Sweden gets a new Entry Level License
As of March 17th Sweden has a new amateur radio certificate, the entry level certificate (“Instegscertifikat för amatörradio”).
The certificate will allow their holders to operate on a limited set of bands (40, 20, 15, 10, 6 and 2m) with a maximum of 25W using only CE-certified (factory-built) equipment. The certificate is national, and does not guarantee any rights to operate abroad. The entry level amateurs will be issued call signs from the “SH”-series.
The requirements for passing the certificate exam are those in CEPT ECC report 89, i.e. very similar to the requirements for the UK “Foundation” license. The certificate exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions, where 22 correct answers are required to pass.
